Kemper MK2 Profiler: The Next Generation of Amp Profiling

The Kemper MK2 Profiler line, announced in 2025, represents the first major hardware refresh of the Kemper Profiler platform. Available across all form factors (Head, Rack, Stage, Player, Powered Head, and Powered Rack) at prices ranging from $699 to $1,798, the MK2 series features a faster processing engine, 20 simultaneous audio effect blocks (up from 13), an 8-channel USB audio interface, 2-minute looper, and the revolutionary Profiling 2.0 technology that analyzes over 100,000 frequency points for unprecedented profiling accuracy.

Kemper MK2 Profiler Pricing

Model Price
MK2 Player $699
MK2 Head $1,348
MK2 Rack $1,398
MK2 Stage $1,498
MK2 Powered Head $1,798
MK2 Powered Rack $1,798

20 Effect Blocks and 8-Channel USB

The jump from 13 to 20 simultaneous effect blocks gives MK2 users significantly more complex signal chains than were possible on the original Profiler. The 8-channel USB audio interface enables multitrack recording and re-amping directly from a DAW without external hardware, making the MK2 a genuine studio centerpiece. The 2-minute looper provides ample recording time for live performance and practice.

Profiling 2.0

The headline technology is Profiling 2.0, which uses a hybrid analog/digital measurement system analyzing over 100,000 individual frequency points to create profiles with unprecedented accuracy. The system captures not just the static frequency response but the dynamic resonance and speaker interaction characteristics of the profiled amplifier, creating what Kemper describes as a “living amplifier” that responds to playing dynamics like the original.

Who Should Buy the Kemper MK2

The MK2 is for existing Kemper users who want more processing power and effect blocks, new users entering the Kemper ecosystem at the latest hardware level, and studio professionals who need the 8-channel USB interface for recording workflows. Players with original Profilers who are satisfied with their current capabilities can continue using Profiling 2.0 via software updates.
